When Gordon Ramsay fell in love with Oban

When Gordon Ramsay touched down in Oban, he immediately fell in love with the place and told his millions of followers that he was moving to The Little Bay.

In June 2018, the celebrity chef was in town filming an ITV programme called The Ultimate Road Trip alongside Fred Sirieix and Gino De Campo.

The show saw the trio travel to various countries to explore the culture and sample the local cuisine.

When arriving in The Gateway to the Isles, Gordon videoed his surroundings and said: “Welcome to the beautiful, and I mean beautiful, Oban. Right, look. When I say one of the most beautiful places anywhere in the world. Take a look at this. Wee beauty.”

Before adding: “OMFG this is a beautiful sunset at Oban. Bonnie Scotland. Come on. Seriously. Beautiful. I’m moving here.”

The Hell’s Kitchen presenter then gave Oban another shoutout when he later appeared on the Jonathan Ross Show.

When Jonathan asked: “Where did you take them to in Scotland?”

Gordon replied: “I wanted to take them to some of the most amazing countryside anywhere in the world. So I took them up to Oban and we went diving for hand dived scallops.

He then joked: “The weather was beautiful, but I was so embarrassed because when we started diving these two were the only ones that wanted to put hat and gloves on to go under the water.”

To which Gino replied: “It was minus 5!”
